After the great response I received last week after posting this post on how to make homemade pickles, I decided to get a little creative and try pickling something some green beans! It may sound a little weird to you, but once pickled, they are crunchy little bites of heaven. I decided to spice up the recipe by added red chili flakes and garlic to the normal concoction of vinegar, salt, and dill. Here’s how I did it:

What you’ll need:

– 3 teaspoons Kosher Salt

– Green Beans (I used a very large handful of fresh green beans from the farmers market)

– 1 Tablespoon Garlic

– 4 shakes Red Chili Flakes (you can adjust to how kicked up you want your beans!)

– A large Mason jar, or any jar with a resealable lid

– 1/2 C Distilled Vinegar

– 1 – Tablespoons chopped Dill

Place all ingredients in jar, shake well, and let sit in fridge. Like the pickles, shake the jar every time you open the fridge to help the ingredients come together! These puppies last for 3 weeks in the fridge. Enjoy!
